The Natural History Gallery is currently closed as it is metamorphisising into a new gallery all about nature in Cheshire.
The new gallery will open on 26 July.

How to get here
10 minutes walk from the bus station, which is behind Chester Town Hall. From the cross, walk down Bridge Street and at the traffic lights, turn right onto Grosvenor Street. The museum is on the left hand side, just by Convivio restaurant.
20 minutes journey from Chester Railway Station. Take the shuttle bus from directly outside the station entrance to the city centre (ticket £1). The museum is a 15 minute walk from the bus stop.
The nearest public car park is The Little Roodee Coach and Car Park on Castle Drive a 5 minute walk away from the museum. There is a disabled parking bay outside the museum.
The Grosvenor Museum has full independent access to the ground floor, including Exhibition Gallery One, the Lecture Theatre, the ground floor of the Period House, the Roman Gallery and the Roman Stones Gallery and accessible toilet.
The Art Gallery, Silver Gallery, Natural History Gallery and Exhibition Gallery Two are on the first floor, the Education Workroom is on the second floor. There is no lift.
There is a small café at the museum offering hot and cold drinks, and small snacks. For something more substantial there are many cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby. You are welcome to eat your packed lunch in the Kings Arms Kitchen, however please note there is no disabled access. The Kings Arms Kitchen is used by schools over lunch periods during term time.
The shop stocks a range of books, greetings cards and historical gifts.
